Dreary to Dreamy Basement Transformation

My client was sick of her dreary, boring, dark basement. And not the moody type of dark we love. Through our full service interior design, we were honored to create a design plan that totally transformed this Anchorage, Alaska basement to be an amazing, beachy, moody hangout space that works perfectly for her family.

This basement offers loads of seating - from a conversation area to a giant sectional lined with counter seating behind. The lovely, beachy wallpaper sets the tone and deep blue cabinetry and accent wall anchor the space. This basement design has no resemblance of their previous space. Yay!

What is a basement hangout without a kitchenette? Of course its focus is refreshments for entertaining, but also great for crafting or art projects. This one has all of the necessities - storage, beverage fridge, microwave, and an instant hot water tap for making drinks or ramen bowls. Gorgeous and practical with its quartz countertops and hand placed tiles.

As much as our clients are looking for an everyday escape, they are also often looking to infuse a little Alaska into the design as well. We love working with local artists. Check out this stunning sheep photo we sourced from local photographer, Brian Hartman with Alaska Born Images.

And now, for the before!
