The what and why of full-service design!

Updated: Jun 5, 2023

Full-service design is a perfect choice if you’re ready for someone to handle all the details for the duration of your project, from idea to installation. This includes a thorough and fun research phase, a comprehensive design plan with a design board and 3D rendering, and an in-person design presentation with samples. It also includes project management, procurement, site checks, installation, and styling. My average full-service furnishing projects range between 16 and 20 weeks, and my full-service renovation/build projects can last a year or more.

I customize each proposal based on the spaces you need help with and how much support you’ll receive to take your project to completion. The investment typically begins at $3,800, and a deposit of 50% is required to secure a spot on the design calendar. My clients typically have project budgets beginning at $25,000.

Why full-service? Over time, I have found that full-service projects are simply the most successful for my clients and for me. It allows me the ability to keep projects moving on track and delivers the very best results. It easily became my signature service. With quality and client service as a pillar of my work, it is the only way I offer local projects.

How it goes down.

It all begins with a complimentary 20-minute Welcome Call, where we discuss your project, what it is like to work with Forty Nine Interiors, and answer any questions you may have. This is where we determine if we are a good fit.

If we decide to move forward together on the project, you will be asked to approve the proposal, sign our design contract, and pay a deposit. Your design deposit is what secures your spot on our calendar.

From there, we give you a date when we will kick-off your project. Project kick-off marks the start of your project. Though we may have had our agreement in place for months, we will not begin any work until the launch as we are likely finishing up other projects that need our utmost attention. We take a limited number of projects each year to guarantee each one the attention it deserves!!

Once your project kicks-off, you will enter the Concept Phase of your design. This is where we nail down the exact layout of your space and put an exact number to the furnishing budget. (Though, you will have approved a furnishing estimate in your proposal.) Once the layout is approved, we move into our Detailed Design Phase. This phase will last 6-8 weeks depending on the scope of your project and culminates in a presentation that provides all the details of your project, finishes, and proposals. You get to sit back and enjoy viewing your space rendered in 3-D, so you can really envision it!

Our Procurement and Execution Phase is where all purchases are made and any construction takes place. Though, we never ever start construction until we have all materials for installation as we want to move your project along as efficiently as possible and this enables us to minimize the impact on your day-to-day life.

Punch-list and Styling rounds out the Completion Phase of our project. We never stop working on your project until every detail is addressed. Redefining your home can be stressful and time-consuming, we take pride in making the process enjoyable and efficient!
